Superior Machinery was commissioned for a specialized cargo loading operation in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru. The task involved hoisting a 15-ton marine lifeboat and precisely positioning it onto a super low deck trailer. Utilizing our 80-ton mobile crane rental, this operation was the critical first step in transporting the vessel safely from Johor Bahru to its final destination within Malaysia.

The Challenge: Protecting a Sensitive Fiberglass Hull

While a 15-ton payload is routine for our mobile crane fleet, the complexity of this project lay entirely in the cargo's fragility. The lifeboat's fiberglass body is incredibly sensitive to localized pressure, collisions, and abrasions. Any sudden jolts, improper weight distribution from standard rigging chains, or slight swinging during the lift could result in costly structural damage. Flawless coordination was required between the crane operator, the rigging team, and the transport crew handling the low loader.

Our Solution: Engineered Rigging and Smooth Operation

To ensure a zero-impact transfer for this delicate cargo, our lifting team executed a meticulously planned strategy:

• 80-Ton Crane Deployment: We deployed an agile 80-ton mobile crane. This provided ample overhead capacity to guarantee a smooth, judder-free hoist and allowed for precise micro-movements during the final lowering phase, ensuring ultimate control.
• Specialized Rigging Execution: Instead of standard chains, we utilized custom spreader bars and heavy-duty synthetic soft slings. This ensured the 15-ton weight was distributed evenly across the hull, preventing any compression damage to the fiberglass.
• Synchronized Loading: Our signalman coordinated seamlessly with the driver of the super low deck trailer. The trailer's low profile was necessary to clear highway bridges during transit, meaning the touchdown had to be exact to align with the trailer's custom support cradles.
• Wind and Environmental Monitoring: Given the large surface area of the lifeboat, wind speeds were strictly monitored to prevent payload spin, ensuring maximum safety for the ground crew and the cargo.

Through precise machinery control and expert rigging, the lifeboat was safely secured onto the transport trailer without a single scratch, demonstrating our capability in handling highly sensitive boat lifting and loading operations efficiently.
